Gutters carry rainwater off the roof and away from the walls. When they block, the water spills over the side, and that’s when you start to see damp patches, green staining on the walls and water splashing at the bottom of the house.
How often
Once a year suits most houses. If you have trees nearby or a mossy roof, twice a year is better, once in late autumn after the leaves have come down and again in spring.
Signs your gutters need clearing
- Water spilling over the edge when it rains
- Plants or grass growing out of the gutter
- A gutter sagging or pulling away
- Damp or green patches on the wall below
- A downpipe that doesn’t run when it rains
How we clear them
We mostly use a gutter vacuum from the ground, and clear them by hand now and then where that works better. We check the downpipes and clear them, and we can clean the fascias and soffits on the same visit. If we spot something small, we can do small repairs while we’re there.

You get a fixed price before we book you in, you pay after the work is done, and there’s no contract. Not happy with your clean? Give us a call and we’ll put it right.
