This sandstone patio in Woking, Surrey had gone green and dark with algae, dirt and black spots.
Before
The algae had spread across most of the slabs and the joints were full of dirt. Sandstone is porous, so the dirt had soaked in and the slabs had lost most of their colour.
What we did
- Pressure washed the patio with a surface cleaner, set to suit sandstone
- Cleaned out the joints
- Rinsed off the spray and cleaned up afterwards
- Put a treatment down to slow the algae coming back
After
The slabs are back to a light sandy colour.
